So, I’ve started Darkfever and I’m almost halfway through. This is my first reread since originally reading the series in 2013. I feel like I still know it by heart, but I think a lot of that is because I relive it in discussions and chats every time someone picks it up for the first time.

It’s interesting to me because I’m remembering things exactly as I imagined them the first time, my layout of BB&B, my version of Barrons (who does not wear silk shirts in my head 😂), etc etc. I’m loving it though.

As someone who’s been reviewing books for several years now, naturally there are elements im noticing this time which I didn’t first time round - things I would have raised my eyebrows at had I been reading it for the first time today. But, I’ve always loved my morally grey characters, and I’ll always love Barrons for the complex character he is.

Nicki I started Darkfever yesterday and am almost third way through. I am enjoying it and it has my attention. The action and excitement is building and the characters Mac and Barrons are developing nicely. I’m really liking their interactions! I have been doing a mix between reading it and listening to it on audio. I’m hoping to finish it in the next few days.

I think for me, one of the things I love about Darkfever the most is that initial back and forth between Mac and Barrons. His utter disdain for her is hilarious to me, I think he's such a complex character, and I'm loving being back in this world again.
