One of my several resolutions is to do more research on contemporary Mexican artists influenced by pre-Hispanic art. This has been an ongoing Project going on its third year.
I would eventually like to have it published, let´s say 3-500 copies in small book form with at least 20 artists, samples of their work, critical essays and analysis and bios. Whew, that´s a tall order.
I seem to have accidentally stumbled on a possible side career of pet portraiture. I didn't have money to get my boss a birthday gift, so I got hold of a decent photo and did a drawing of her dog, and next thing I knew I had coworkers queuing up. And since I'd far rather draw dogs and cats than a lot of other things I could name (like my day job), my resolution is to start a shop on Etsy.com, maybe create a website, and get something underway. Who knows? It isn't high art, but it makes people remarkably happy. (My slogan might be something like "Want to make 'em cry? I can help!")

That is wonderful, Geoffrey! With your knowledge and acute descriptions, I'm sure they will turn out excellent!

What a talent that can be put to good use to make people happy and make you a little extra money! I wish you the best and I'm sure you will do well!
I posed this question at the beginning of the year, and now it is nearing the end of the year, I want to pose the same question:Who set New Year's Resolutions or goals?
If you did resolve to change, or create, or learn, etc. something in this year, are you still sticking to that resolution?
How and what has happened this year as far as your goals or resolutions? How is it turning out?

Well, I will post here, I don't have too much to say, unfortunately. Maybe not many of us do, thus the silence?
But I resolved to continue and hopefully finish learning a certain piano piece by Beethoven-- "Pathetique". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqvBJ... I knew 2 pages well, and every year want to learn more. I've been a slacker the past several years but now I can at least say that 10 months later in this year, I've learned 4 more pages of the 16 page sonata. It's a tiny progress....
As for my yearly reading challenge, uh, Not so well. I'm behind on my already puny goal. I need to finish 5 more books in the next 2 1/2 months. For a lot of the group, those books may take 5 days! But I hope to reach at least my goal for this year. How are you all doing?
Other goals or resolutions, well, I don't even remember so I guess I didn't accomplish them!

(these are not necessarily art related)
Who set New Year's Resolutions or goals?
If you did resolve to change something in this year, are you still sticking to that resolution?
Anyone care to share something they would like to see happen in their life this year 2018? Anything you want to change? Anything you want to accomplish? Open up!
