I'm about half way through and I'm enjoying it so far. This is the first Gatsby adaption that I have ever read. It seems to follow the original a lot, just updated. I'm interested if the other adaption suggested is similar. I might try to read that one next.

It was my first time reading a Gatsby adaption too. I noticed that too. It still had me wondering, however, how everything was going to play out in the end and how the author was going to build up to certain parts.

So I’m realizing that I’ll have to up my game on the next book, because I’m still only on page 25 haha. However, I am excited to read the discussions that are happening, and to participate as much as I can!!
I believe we have till the end of February, right? I ended up finishing a Great last night. I thought I’d take longer but found it to be a really quick read. I really liked the way it all played out but I won’t say any more since others are still reading.
Yes, we still have until the end of February. I just got done reading an 800-page book, I think that is why I flew through Great.
I started to read The Great Gatsby few days ago and read about 10 pages and I am not very impressed. This will probably not be my cup of tea...
I read this adaptation as well. I wasn't that impressed with it, but it was okay. I read a ton of YA, so I thought it'd be right up my alley, but I felt like the characters were just too immature to hold my interest in them. I did finish it, and I found it a little more interesting towards the end as it speeds up, but it's not something I can see myself recommending to others who liked TGG.

I can see where the immaturity of the characters was a bit annoying. I personally, really liked the ending in Great, where Jacinda kind of got the last word. For the most part, I really liked this adaption but I did feel like the whole obsession of Jacinda with Delilah translated as way weirder to me than of Gatsby and Daisy in the original. I don't know if it was because they were younger or that the whole thing was a more modern adaption, but the obsession seemed way more apparent to me in this adaption.

Anyone else reading or finished it? Any thoughts?
