I had no idea what this story was leading up to again.
I liked that in the end the girl ran off with the water and none of the selfish men got anything. As a reader I didn't feel manipulated to see a good guy and a bad guy. (Which I guess is why she ended up with the water.)
I am also really happy that although she was a beautiful girl, she herself doesn't become vain. Instead she stays happy with growing old and being an independent woman living alone peacefully.

I'm just not sure if I'm loving short stories in general to be honest. These are the first I have ever read. I'm not sure if maybe I read Leigh Bardugo's other books, maybe I would appreciate these more... But honestly at the moment they're not living up to my high expectations.
