Carrie (cseydel) Hi everyone, here are my permanent room decor owned books that I plan to get to this year:

2. Little Children, Tom Perrotta 3/23
3. Little Fires Everywhere, Celeste Ng 4/15
4. The Color of Magic, Terry Pratchett 4/29
5. A Wind in the Door, Madeline L’Engle4/30
6. The Lightning Thief, Rick Riordan5/20
7. The Language of Flowers, Vanessa Diffenbaugh 8/26
8. An Assembly Such as This, Pamela Aidan
9. The Violinist's Thumb: And Other Lost Tales of Love, War, and Genius, as Written by Our Genetic Code, Sam Kean
10, 11, 12. A Daughter's a Daughter and Other Novels: The Burden / Unfinished Portrait This is a collection of three novels by Agatha Christie, writing as Mary Westmacott. I won this as my Summer Reading Prize, oh, 10 years ago? Why have I not read it?

Wow! Feels good to have a list. Let's see if I can resist the siren song of the library this year. Here goes nothing!

Carrie (cseydel) Finished Lightning Thief 5/20

Had to read a couple library books for book club. Currently reading A Swiftly Tilting Planet. So much for my plan, but these are all definitely books I’ve owned for over a year.

Carrie (cseydel) Omg. Must institute a ban on library books!! Haven’t made any headway this month.

Carrie (cseydel) Another one bites the dust! Finished The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. It was a very moving story and I really enjoyed it. I was never particularly drawn to it (obviously, since it's been sitting here for 5 years or so) but now I'm glad I read it. Heartfelt and raw. The ending wrapped up a little too tidily, but that's sort of expected and allowed in this type of book.

Carrie (cseydel) Daaaaaang I still need to read 5 previously owned books in the next 2 months. The library is my kryptonite! Not to mention joining too many book clubs and buddy reads. Off to find the 5 shortest books on my shelf, stat!

Can ... she ... make ... it... (pant, pant) ...

Anne ✨ Finds Joy (annefindsjoy) ha, you are exactly where I'm at! 7 down, and 5 to go!

Good idea to look for the shorter books... I will join you in that strategy!

Good luck!!
