It's the most useful day of the year. The Mem and I got married on 12 February, which was a cunning ruse to help me remember our anniversary.

Whenever the shops are full of Valentine's Day stuff, I know that I need to go buy flowers.

The restaurants are also much quieter on the 12th.

This cunning ruse has served me well for 17 years. Not missed a single anniversary. I may have to patent it.

I just knew you'd love it, honey!
