My favorite thing to read is an illustrated middle-grade fantasy, but any fantasy/supernatural story is good. If there is magic, I'll probably enjoy it. Eventual happy endings are preferred.

I know what you mean about happy endings. I’ve seen a lot of middle grade books that have that barely hopeful feel that comes with dystopian. I want mg MCs that are hopeful and positive. Lol.
