Saga Land. The GR community rated it higher than me, however.

Now to a great shock. I didn't realise a 'leopard' book was just a precis. SIGH...

Oh well I have : Fates and Furies and Sycamore now on loan..
From my Overdrive platform, I am currently reading Sixty Lights

I read her Things I Don't Want to Know which was also a sort of memoir and thought it was very interesting. And of course we're both Hot Milk fans.

Thanks will see if its available. I sometimes have to wait ages, but its worth it. Hot Milk was a good lesson for me. It seem meh, on the first read, but it was as if, once I realised she was South African, I could read it a different way, and then I 'goddit'... (Says more about me than the book, I suppose) .

Was lucky enough to recommend
them on both my EBOOK platforms.

"As if the fate of the real Donner Party – a grisly footnote in the American story of westward expansion – were not bad enough, Alma Katsu adds a rich vein of horror to her imaginative retelling of the 1846 wagon journey across the continent to California. The Hunger is astonishingly atmospheric, with a strong sense of claustrophobia, despite the vast prairies and mountains. The power struggles that break out among the travellers as they jettison unnecessary baggage and fight over dwindling food supplies harden into suspicion and loathing after a lost child is found dead and mutilated. It gradually becomes clear that, whatever cannibalistic shapeshifter may be lurking outside the circle of wagons, the real danger lies within the group itself. Despite carrying some unnecessary baggage of its own in the form of back stories that reveal what is already obvious, this is an enthralling and chilling read."

I'm intrigued with the Donner party, but I have some difficulty with cannibalistic stories. It creeps me a bit too much.

I did get a copy and really loved it. It's one that resonated so well as she was about the same age as me, in the same place.. ie Durban, where I mostly grew up. I found it ended rather abruptly, but its one when I run out of current newly arrived requested books, will probably go back to. Thanks for the heads up.
