I know that "After You" was not as well liked as the first book, however, I always thought it was a fair assessment of how someone would actually handle the shock and grief Louisa went through. I feel like in this novel we actually learn who Louisa is apart from the people around her. I really enjoyed watching her character become more and hope that the novels might just continue a bit.

I agree. I expected Louisa to travel off like Will told her to and then she would fall in love again and blah blah blah, but I'm so glad we got to see her grieve and go through the process. I wasn't a fan of the whole Lily plot line, and I do think After You and Still Me could have been cut down and combined to make a better book. Despite its execution, I do think it sends a powerful message, especially to young readers, about grief, love, and finding yourself and happiness.
