If you want to talk about this book, share your opinions about things you like or don't like about it, don't hesitate !

Rhianna (triforceofdragons) | 1 comments Nobody else has commented but hey 😂 I read this book before, about four or so years ago, and absolutely hated it - I reeeally wasn't pleased when Alberto announced it lol. Reading it again hasn't really changed my mind; I find it confusing to work out which characters are which, and also whether we're reading an event in the past or the present. BUT there is so much humour in this book that I completely missed first time around, that I really appreciate this time. I think it's far from an easy book to read, and probably would be beneficial to re-read it in the future, but I think I was also too quick to judge it first time around 😂

Hello !

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this book.
It's my first time reading it and I had never heard of it before (oops), so I didn't know what to expect at all.

I also find it confusing and unsettling, and I don't know if I like it or not: it's a big question mark for me. However, I find it funny sometimes, and the more I read it, the more I see where the humour is, and how it's a major element in the book.
It's definitely one of the hardest book I've ever had to read. There's a lot of things going on, but at the same time it seems a lot for not that much, if you know what I mean.

But there's something about this book that makes me want to read more chapters every time. When I'm reading it, I have a hard time putting it down because 1) I'm on a roll and as long as I understand what I'm reading, I want to continue, 2) but also because I'm curious about where the whole thing is going. I'm often lost and there are some parts I have to read two times to understand what's going on, but it always left me curious.

Have a great Saturday :)

Vanessa (mudnessa) I also can't decide if I like it or not. At the start I was definitely having a hard time reading and getting into it and would re-read parts to try and understand things but now I almost read without necessarily tying to completely comprehend what I'm reading. it makes it easier and perhaps I'm missing out on some of the subtler things but I'm also not quitting the book which I might do it I was trying to understand it all. I feel that because it's meant to be funny/odd almost disjointed stories that I don't need to be trying to read into the stuff more. I'm also really glad I didn't have to read this in school because I would have hated it and probably not gotten through it.

Hello !

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Catch-22.

I totally understand this feeling you have. I think that at some point, maybe it's better to have an idea of the big picture rather than just little details —and I feel like there are a lot of them in this book—. It definitely makes it a little easier !

Maybe you feel like you don't understand, but you actually get the point. I know that I probably miss a lot of things while I read the book ; but when we talk about it during the lives, seeing everyone sharing their thoughts and having a more precise opinion helps me a lot, and I often found out that I'm actually not that far from the reality of what's going on in the story.

Have a great Monday :)
