Not a book suggestion, but my mom ended up with an orchard box of apples in spilled in her front yard when the box fell off the truck turning the corner. The orchard told her to keep them, because they didn't want to bother picking them up. She filled 20 paper grocery bags with apples and brought them to work, and still had bags and bags left.I guess if she'd owned a cafe, she might have come up with lots of recipes! But we just got a lot of apple pies and raw apples...

I'm 50/50 on whether this is a stand alone story or in an anthology.
Pretty certain it is an Australian book.
Not a picture book but it has pictures in it.
