Hey, sorry for the late response on this thread.

I am keen whenever but preferably not starting in the next week because I've got some stuff to finish off. Turns out my library has 3 copies and they are all available so I should be good to go.

Only one exam left to do, which will be Monday and I'm pretty positive I passed my other exams :)

So I'm ready to start anytime!

Oh man! That’s so late! I’m going to be out for three weeks for vacation to Europe! I am excited though! Going to France, Spain, Italy and Switzerland! But yea I won’t be back until June 25!

It was super warm just some days ago. Although there's always Summer rains and all that.

The weather has been pretty good over here in the Netherlands for the past few weeks, so you might want to consider adding my country to your travel schedule, Ilsen! ;) xD

Until Chapter 6

(view spoiler)[ Ok so am I the only one who didn’t realize that Alex was seven in the prologue? That whole time I thought she was a teenager until it said in the first chapter that it happened when she was seven. Which makes more sense because she was acting like a kid. But I don’t know maybe it was on my part. For me, it was a weird way to start.

I don’t know how I feel about Alex actually. Like she keeps talking about communists and such. I understand paranoia but it’s a little strange. And she kinda has this weird attitude about her. I know she is not completely unreliable. I just know that she is aware but sometimes has to double check.

To be honest, I already know that Miles has to be real. There is no way everyone can think up of those facts that quickly. What probably happened is that the interaction was real but her asking him to help get the lobsters out was not. Also, Miles is an asshole. Like “Oh yes I’m smart but I don’t care” asshole. Like I never like those people. And apparently there is a romance between them? How?

Also what really bothers me is that she keeps using the term “crazy”? There’s this one particular line that absolutely irks me.
“Is there something wrong with him?” she whispered. “Like....mentally?” What the hell? Like no. Mental illness doesn’t make you not function in real life. People shouldn’t look at him differently. And especially coming from her. She should know better.

Also the writing isn’t as good as I hope. Someone discuss with me. I’m hoping it gets better. (hide spoiler)]

Until Chapter 12

(view spoiler)[ Ok the writing got better. Also even though I know that Miles is real, I still want to see Alex realize it for herself. I do want to know what happens. Just not absolutely loving it.

The bullies are just terrible but of course no surprise that Celia is the bully. Like using makeup and being a cheerleader is always the bad thing. I mean this book isn’t that old. Can we stop making the cheerleader the antagonist. What they do doesn’t matter. It’s their personality. And using makeup is not that bad. Although she does use a lot of it, that’s just how she likes it. But she’s still mean. And of course the asshole football players and the nice nerd friend and the guy who is treating the main character mean but we are supposed to like them together. So many stereotypes and tropes everywhere.

The other people in the club that Miles is in. I’m not sure if they are supposed to be important or not. I don’t know we will find out. So far the only character I feel for is maybe Charlie. Although I’m having a hard time trying to figure out her age. Also Alex keeps calling herself crazy and it just annoys me honestly.

But there are snakes in the ceiling really? Maybe she made that whole factual thing up. I don’t know. Interested to know what you guys think. (hide spoiler)]

Until Chapter 18

(view spoiler)[ Honestly I came back and I forgot everyone’s names except Alex. It’s been a while. I knew the party was going to be trouble to begin with. And I was starting to get bored. Like am I supposed to care about these characters that she’s friends with? I barely know anything about them. And Miles is still a jerk. Yea he’s decent for helping her way home but like he’s still mean to her. I get he is supposed to be angsty.

I’m still interested to see what happens and I do like the writing. I just do not care about any of them. And I don’t like Alex. And I knew the photography was not helping her. Medication isn’t bad! Therapy isn’t bad!! Ugh. Maybe a couple of more. I’m just wanting to read too and I just can’t find it in me to DNF. (hide spoiler)]

Yea don’t even waste your time. I just couldn’t anymore. There is just so many issues. I will explain. I didn’t even finish it and Becca knows that I do not like DNF’ing. I just could not do it anymore.
