Ben Johnson | 4 comments The book "Reframing Foster Care" was written by Jason Johnson, but a different one than this: Jason Johnson. They have the same name but are different people.
I believe the same issue applies to this book: The Beauty and Brokenness of Foster Care. How do we get this fixed?

Abcdarian | 26579 comments I moved those books, but there are many more that don't belong on that author profile. Unfortunately he has the default profile where any new books by that author name arrive.

Ben Johnson | 4 comments Sorry, I'm not so familiar with Author pages, but now when clicking on the the "Jason Johnson" link from the above book page, it goes here: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show... , which lists other books that are not by this Jason Johnson. What if not all authors with the same name with books on Goodreads have author accounts? What's a default profile?

Abcdarian | 26579 comments If you click on the Jason Johnson name in your original post, it goes to the author you wanted the books removed from. If you click on the books, they are on a different same-name author profile.

Many many authors don't have individual accounts. Any given author will get a new profile if they, or someone else, request to have their books sorted out to a new profile. The profile where everybody lumps together is the default one.

Were you looking for a profile with just the Foster Care author's books? If so, we'd need to find out which books are his and then move them to another new profile. It's a bit complicated isn't it? :-)

Ben Johnson | 4 comments Yes, I was trying to get the books sorted out for the Jason that's writing about Foster Care. The Amazon site (https://www.amazon.com/Reframing-Fost...) lists his bio:

Jason Johnson and his wife Emily became foster parents in 2012 and live in Texas with their four daughters. After years of pastoral ministry and church planting experience, Jason spends his time equipping churches and encouraging families on their foster care and adoption journeys. He is the author of ALL IN Orphan Care and blogs regularly at www.jasonjohnsonblog.com.

Here are the only books that I think belong to him:

- All in Orphan Care (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...)
- The Beauty and Brokenness of Foster Care (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...)
- Reframing Foster Care
(https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...)

I think all the others on that page are from other Jasons.

As for how the Amazon site handles this, and I think is more intuitive is to have an author search be default, instead of a default profile. A profile sort says to me that these are all by the same person, but searching tells the user that you're just searching for all the books by an author with that name.
