I'm guessing she considered him a family friend and just assumed he would never kill someone. At this point she knew he was the guy in the photo that she was looking for. I certainly would have been wary of him. No ferris wheel for me.
I think she truly wanted to believe he was innocent and jumped at that alibi for Gerda’s murder to salve her own feelings. He was a friend and she didn’t want him to be guilty. Even so, putting herself in a helpless position by getting on that Ferris Wheel was just crazy. We all knew it was:)
I am in agreement there too! I had already decided in my own mind that Dirk was the villain of the piece:)
And even if she thought he wasn't guilty of murder, he's still creepy! Reason enough for me to not get on any close-sitting rides with him.
And there was that! This creep assaulted her in the tunnel...I wouldn’t have gotten on another ride.
She wanted to believe he was innocent and ignored the creepy vibes coming from him. Not a clever move!
