I was sitting for about 5 hours watching the 2018 NASCAR Daytona 500 race (I do this every year - mostly because I hate Hockey). After about lap 30 things slightly mellowed out ---- so I grabbed my laptop and created this group (with my wife) while watching the race.

We also witnessed Denny Hamlin #11( in a Toyota commercial chatting with a deaf child in sign language about racing. (my wife is a sign language interpreter. Very important topic to us.) Best commercial EVAR!
What a fun day. I'll post who wins the race later...

Julie (frulie) | 21 comments Best thing about the commercial was that it was a real Deaf boy from a real family- not actors. Apparently, he really wrote to Denny and mentioned that he wanted to race him some day. Denny had said the same thing to his hero back in the day, so it struck a chord with him. The coolest part, is that they’ll probably be in each other’s lives from here on out. <3

Amazing. We should put a link to the commercial eventually. Denny Hamlin came in third I believe.

Awesomely- Bubba Wallace Jr. came in 2nd... in the #43 Richard Petty car. I cheered him on the whole race.
And Austin Dillon (in Earnhardt's #3 car) made some very cool thanks to God for the race win.

They still haven't released it on the interwebs yet, but I'll keep searching!

This is what happened when Bubba saw his family after the 500!
