NPCs and its sequels feature, in best D&D style, a party thief.there's one in Frogkisser!
And of course, everyone's favorite hobbit burglar.

Joe Bonadonna just wrote a meta-summary on Black Gate about the Sacred Band spin off from Thieves' World:
Link to Black Gate article (it has other links to his reviews of each book)
Janet E. Morris has spent the last decade making Author's Cuts of the Tempus and Sacred Band Novels, and just recently completed releasing them all.
Goodread's listing of series Link
Beyond Sanctuary
Beyond the Veil
Beyond Wizardwall
City At The Edge Of Time
Tempus Unbound Author's Cut

I have yet to read any of the spin-off books - but then I haven't even finished reading the original Thieves' World series either! So much to read, so little time.... But I'll do my best to fit in another Thieves' World book over the next couple of months.
Btw, Seth, the URL you used for the link to the Black Gate article contains some gobbledigook at the end which needs deleting so that it can work.

Greg, Thank you! As much as I like GR, it's interface is terrible for adding minor rich text (like links). A simple/unnecessary space at the end of the html code gives no error...and leads to barf. Ugh. Appreciate the check! [I fixed it]
Actually, I am the opposite: I've tried some of the Morris work and liked it, but somehow missed the original anthologies.

No problem! I've suffered that issue with URLs frmo time to time myself.
And that's funny how we've read the different series!
Having read the first three original Thieves' World books years and years ago, I only started to catch up with the series in 2015 with Storm Season. I've had a copy of The Face of Chaos for many years so it's about time I got around to reading that too. And after that, there are another 7 books in the series (none of which I have currently)!
I decided this would be a good reason to start A Conversation in Blood, the third of Paul S. Kemp's Egil & Nix books.
I just finished the The Literate Thief.
Walter Rhein has written heroic fantasy, but this book is actually dystopian adventure (lots of swords, and a grim future, but no sorcery). It will appeal to most dark fantasy readers and folks here I suspect.

Literate Thief
I finished A Conversation in Blood, which was an entertaining way to spend a few hours. Thievery wasn't a major focus, but one of our heroes (Nix) has tendencies in that direction, and there was a visit to the headquarters of the local thieves' guild.
