Angle of Repose

These two I would not call "genre fiction," as they are considered literary fiction. But they are both set in the west so could be considered "western fiction."

Meg | 25 comments I recommend Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry. Epic story, great characters and it won a Pulitzer.

Zane Grey and Louis L'Amour are two authors that are generally considered "must reads" for those interested in reading Westerns.

Rachel | 1527 comments The Sisters Brothers by Patrick DeWitt is a fairly recent one but I really enjoyed it. Like a book version of a Cohen brothers film.

OP left Goodreads. Moved this request to the "Now we'll never know" folder.

Kris, I had left it in "Suggest books for me" because these types of threads can go on indefinitely, even without an OP because nothing is being solved or searched for.
