Sarah (sarahlovesthelibrary) | 17 comments I attempted reading IT a few years ago, and only read about half before I put it down. I finally picked it up again and can now scratch all 1,158 pages off of my TBR list, bucket list, life accomplishments list, King list, basically all the list.. you get it.

Spoiler Alert**

It was definitely a fantastic read! I enjoyed reading about each individuals story, and the differences/similarities from their childhood to their adulthood. Especially the emphasis on the fears developed as children. I really enjoyed both movies as well (early 90's and last years.) Have you seen the films?

Matthew Cross i agree with you there and the flash back with dick holaron from the shining , yeah i love the 1990 adaption there's hundreds of bits adapted from the book , the dam scene , officer Nell , the pharmacist telling Eddie about his medicine and much more . the movie not so much it barely had any thing to do with the book other than georges death poor mikes plot and lines were given to ben , for some reason Beverly seemed to be like 16 and really sexed up - all the kids at school calling her a hore and all the monsters that scared the kids , not sure were they came from , wasnt impressed by pennywise mostly being cgi . if kings book didnt exist it would be ok i guess but ive seen it six times now and cant stop thinking every few seconds - no thats wrong and so on . now i get movies cant portray the book 100 percent but it 2017 was a huge over hall i mean bowers dying at the bottom of that well , whos going to stab mike i part 2 ? stuff like that isnt brilliant for the continuity. it would have been so much better if they did it they way they they did 11.22.63 - 10 episodes or so with varying running time and being based on the book

Matthew Cross although the movies time setting is wrong for when the story took place I do like how they got the types of cars right and all the posters of films and the movies they had on at the cinema

I did not even catch that reference! Thank you for pointing that out about Dick Hallorann! I forget that King always cross references his novels. Yes the 1990 film covered the book more and it's a classic in itself all together. Tim Curry <3.. The 2017 film - I did enjoy that they included the rock fight, but the scene was more impactful in the book, and felt rushed in the film. Beverley DID seem way too old compared to the book, and definitely over sexualized. She is a rebellious yet innocent character that was and wasn't portrayed correctly. There were times (like confronting her father) that she seemed to be this young girl, but it wasn't captured that way throughout the entirety of the film. Also, Bowers! He is important for Chapter 2, so WTF are they going to do now? I did appreciate the actor who played Bowers though, he played the bully role very well, and I did like how they showed his struggle with his father. Although it really didn't make sense that they made Butch Bowers a cop, instead of a farmer, hence the rivalry between Henry and Mike.. I'm very curious to see what will happen with chapter 2, and I'm hoping it will be true to the novel. Less CGI and more novel based writing! I am late to the game on 11.22.63 I need to read and watch both, but I've heard amazing reviews!

Matthew Cross i agree with you fully there , whats amazing is that you understood my spelling of dicks name , yeah i think curry is brilliant too and thats the way he was portrayed in the book too like ronald mcdonald , i cant wait for the documentary - pennywise the story of it , over 2 hours of un seen footage from the 1990 it adaption . yeah i love 11.22.63 i haven't read it yet but i go with the fact that purely being a series it has more time to show story content

Sarah (sarahlovesthelibrary) | 17 comments Matthew wrote: "whats amazing is that you understood my spelling of dicks name."

Google corrected my original spelling when I was researching his reference in IT ..LOL ..damn Google!

I also didn't know that there is a documentary coming out about the 1990 adaptation!! I'm about to look that up..That sounds fantastic!

If you ever read 11.22.63 let me know! I have the show on my long list of TV/movie watching... I'll definitely watch it sometime soon now though!

Matthew Cross same here , will do , i found out about the documentary before the movie came out at the cinema so its been a long wait for me , i saw the advert for the documentary on you tube ages ago its from i think its from the same people who did the pet sematary documentary

Sarah (sarahlovesthelibrary) | 17 comments I didn't know there was a Pet Sematary documentary either, I will have to check this one out too. Is it on YouTube?

Matthew Cross not sure I paid a couple of pounds for it on iTunes

Sarah (sarahlovesthelibrary) | 17 comments I found it on Amazon Prime Video, awesome! Thank you for the recommendation, Pet Sematary is one of my all time favs.. who's isn't it though right??

Sarah (sarahlovesthelibrary) | 17 comments Pet Sematary is on my TBR list too.. among many King books. I had to take a little break after reading IT though LOL
