I’m a big Sarah fan and she’s no shrinking violet. Amos had already killed one person and tried to kill Dudley. I absolutely thought he’d try to kill her.
Yes, Amos would have killed her. I was happy that she took care of the situation and didn't have to wait to be saved by a man. She even had the sense to tie him up before he came to his senses.
He was going to harm her and probably kill her. I'm finding Sarah to be progressive, witty, and strong. I know it was mentioned she always ended up in conflict with her father so she was stubborn from a young child but I wonder how much of her character was born to her and how much was bred from experience. Marrying a "lesser" stationed man than expected shows strong constitution but then to lose that man to violence after a short time had to have built some character as well.
