Hiya, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo! Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
2a ~ Create a master list in a post (preferably on the first page of your team's thread) and update it weekly or as often as necessary
2b ~ Post your team's stats on the Captain's Log prior to requesting a stamp
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week
4a ~ Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game
Hi everyone...I'm excited for another round of Bingo. I think I've played about 5 or 6 times before but missed the last round, so I am overdue. Can't wait to get started. I'm hoping that someone else would like to be team captain.
Hi everyone! I'm Karen and am also excited to get started on the challenge. Especially with a new Patricia Briggs book out im pretty much sitting on my hands waiting tok read it. I'd rather not be captain. My last captain experience kept me away from the last couple of rounds. I have no problem helping out posting shelves when called as it's a decent time for me but I'd rather not be in charge and tracking.
I'm bad at naming things but I'll admit to a fondness for Victorious Secret:)

Hi everyone! This will be my second time playing. Angie, if you’re willing to be captain, that sounds good to me. I like Victorious Secret as a name. I’m going to have a hard time if shifters are called - I love the Alpha and Omega series and can’t wait to read the newest but there’s a few others I need to read for other challenges. A good problem to have
Hi everyone!! This is only my second time playing, but it was such fun last round! I was captain in the last round and will do it IF no one else wants it....So I guess it's up to Barbara! :-)I am no good at coming up with names either! I like all your ideas Lisa!
I can't wait to read the new Patricia Briggs book either, Karen!!
Barbara, does that mean you prefer not to be captain?
Nice to meet you all...where is everyone from? I live in North Carolina and have twin teenage boys. Thanks Angie for volunteering to be captain!
Angie ☯ wrote: "Barbara, does that mean you prefer not to be captain?"Yes. Sorry, my brain is fading fast tonight. I do not want to be captain
Lol - I guess I will do it then. Nice to meet everyone! I am in Tennessee - we are practically neighbors, Lisa!
Seems like everyone likes Victorious Secret as our name - is that good with you too, Lisa? And thank you for gives us name choices!!
I've lived in TN as well...pretty state! I'm good with any name. I thought that one sounded kind of fun!
Looks like we are all set to start! First shelf called today around 3pm PST / 6pm EST.I am going to rearrange my posts and use Msg # 9 and Msg #10 for tracking, etc.
Lisa and I are in EST - Barbara and Karen would you care to let me know your time zone? Thanks!!
Everyone feel free to choose your Free Space book at any time - but don't start reading until the first shelf is called.I think everyone has played before, but here is a reminder of how to choose your book Free Space Rules.

Lisa and I are in EST - Barb..." Hi - I'm in CST
Thanks for being captain Angie! I'm in Massachusetts so also on Eastern Time. And getting at least a foot of snow today. One of the reasons this challenge popped up at the right time, spring takes forever to get here and I needed a distraction.
I'll definitely be reading Burn Bright. I just finished my current read at lunch and by the time I'm done work the shelf will have been called. If it fits the Shelf I'll read it for that, otherwise for the Free Space.
So I'm sorted. I'm going to read Burn Bright for the free space and Imitation in Death for the shelf
Thanks for posting the shelf, Karen! For your free space, please include which of the free space options it matches. Thanks!
Hi,For the Futuristic romance call, I'll read Born of Ice.
For the free space, I'll read Slide which is from the group bookshelf
I will update my books this evening. For the 1st shelf - Futuristic Romance ~

Review: This book was a pleasant surprise and I enjoyed every minute of it. My favorite part was the relationship between Rose (human) and Sazo (A.I.). Sazo was super intelligent, but it was Rose who taught him about emotions and became his morale compass. They formed an everlasting friendship with an unbreakable bond. It was fun to see Sazo pick up on some of Rose's human characteristics and expressions as well. They made a great team surviving in an alien world that was new to them both. Sazo's Class 5 spacecraft was super cool as well. Speaking of...I also like action in my books and there was plenty of that here to go around (high-tech spacecrafts, space battles, cool weaponry and gadgets, etc.) And of course the story would not be complete without some romance, and the alien Dav was the perfect hero for Rose (strong, sweet, loyal and would do anything to keep her safe). I also appreciated the fact that the romance was just a small part of a much grander story...no sex overkill! I read this book pretty quickly and never wanted to put it down...definitely looking forward to the next in the series.

I really loved the first book, but for some reason, the series dropped off my radar. i'll have to move the second book up on my TBR.

Review: I had a hard time getting into this book. It's the third book in the series and jumps about twenty years after the previous book in the series. That was fine and I loved seeing the characters from the previous books show up as parents of the current characters, but the set up initially seemed too similar to the previous book - the heroine had to set the hero up to be convicted as a criminal and her family's future depended on this. About 1/2 the way through the book the characters started to have their own voice/reactions and the book pulled me in. By the end of the book, my only area of concern was that i thought Devyn trusted Alix too quickly.
Ugh, we lost power Wednesday night and just got it back yesterday afternoon. Luckily my parents aren't far and they had power so I had to pack up the kitties and spend a few nights there. I managed to finish Burn Bright though so I'll have that review up in a bit.

I always anticipate a new Patricia Briggs book and this one was no exception. I love the shared Mercy/Alpha & Omega world and what I enjoyed in this book was seeing more of it. In this book we get to know more about the "wildings" who live hidden on Bran's land. They aren't quite part of the pack but they are Bran's wolves. I really enjoyed this part, getting to know these wolves who were broken and dangerous and fragile all at once. Seeing more of Bran's pack in general was also interesting as typically most of the action has taken place with Anna & Charles on the road or through Mercy's eyes.
I also liked that we got some additional POVs, Bran & Leah both had POV scenes, even if they were pretty brief. I think we've seen a Bran POV before, at least in one of the short stories, but Leah really interested me in this book. I feel like we got to know her better and it fleshed out her character from just being the one who hates Mercy.
A couple of things prevented this from being a 5 star read. One I'll put behind a spoiler tag even though it takes place early in the book. It's not a spoiler for this plot but may be for the series so I'll be cautious (view spoiler) The other thing is something I can't quite put my finger on but it's mainly about how women characters are treated in this universe. Both Mercy & Anna have no real female friends, most of the other women in this world are somehow jealous or otherwise bitchy about them. It's something that might not stand out in one book but has been vaguely itching at me when I read this series. Anyway, there's a lot I love about these books (obviously, I had this pre-ordered) but that's just something that bugs me when I think too closely about it.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

T his is my favorite of the series so far, and I know, I said that about #3! I love the characters, especially Roarke, and Eve, okay and Peabody too! Eve and Peabody are so funny with some of their conversations!
I really like learning just a little more about the characters with each book. Eve and Roarke's relationship is so much fun! I was a little afraid that they dynamic would change when they got married, and it did - but in a good way!!
Interesting plot, fast paced non-stop action, a kick-ass female, a hot Irishman....what's not to love!
Great series!

Review: This book was pure pain and angst, which usually isn't my favorite genre, but for some reason this bowled me over. I loved both Ash and Pete and thought the side characters added a lot. I'd love to see Ellie with her own story and hope she finds her own HEA at some point. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series
I'm excited Angie...picking a new book after the new shelf is called is half the fun!!!I'm almost done with my free space book as well, so should be ready to go tomorrow.
That's me too, Lisa! I love finding the new book! I will probably finish my free space book tonight as well. :-)
The next shelf is always exciting. I usually find either something that got lost in my tbr or something totally unexpected. Either way, kind of like opening a present.

What a great start to a series! It had me laughing most of the way through the book! Love the characters, but especially Oberon!
While the story itself is pretty hard core UF, the mood seems almost lighthearted. Atticus seems very comfortable with himself, so there isn't any tortured, redemption seeking going on. And, he is a bit snarky - I love snarky characters!!
Will definitely read more of this series. I would read them one after another, if I could make them work for challenges!!
