Hey Aly! This will be our chatting discussion, and I hope that you like it! How has your day been so far? :D

message 2: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments Hiya! My day has been pretty slow, I didn't understand some of my math homework so I have to go see my math teacher tomorrow. :} But otherwise, it's pretty good! How has yours been?

Oh! One more thing. Peanut and Kiko also say hello!

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Ah, I see. Slow days can be fun but I'm a hyper human being. Hehe! Glad it's been good though! :)
Mine's been great. We've gotten about a foot of snow over last night and it is still snowing now, I'm almost done with the flu and it's been an alright day! :D

Tell them I say hello back! They sound absolutely precious! :) All my chickens say hi too and they're waving their wings! Ha ha! :D

Milo | 195 comments Glad to hear!

The piggies are finally beginning to get closer! I managed to sneak a picture of them cuddling!

Bonding!/>
(Lol don't mind the messy cage, I'm currently cleaning it. :D)

They are yelling at me to finish their cage! :D I only did half! XD I'm such a great parent... Lol!

The piggies are still trying to decide who's 'boss'. I believe its gonna be Peanut. She is doing all the nipping and stuff to show Kiko she's alpha.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, they are adorable!!! I love the little things and am glad to hear they're getting along! :D

Oh, it's fine, I've been needing to clean the chickens' coops anyhow so yours is NOTHING bad in comparing! XD

Too funny!! They sound very smart and mischief-filled! Ha ha, but it seems they tell you when they want something! Hehe!

Ah, I see. Please tell me when you find out! I've been through many dominance issues with the chickens, I wonder if it's trickier with guinea pigs or chickens! :D

message 7: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments I will keep you updated. This weekend we are removing the divider so they are with each other all the time. :)
I'm not sure, it depends on the piggy. Peanut is a very calm piggy, I'm surprised Kiko isn't picking on her! Another guinea pig I was going to bond her with kept bullying her! It was awful, so I decided to try with a different piggy! Kiko! :D

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you! That's very good, best of luck! I bet they'll do wonderful together. :)

Oh, I see! I'm sorry that Peanut was being picked on but I'm very happy that Kiko was around at the time! :D It is awful when they don't cooperate. I had raised a chick in my room because she was abandoned as an egg. After she grew up, she needed to go with one of the other flocks for a family. The mother that abandoned her and the mother's own hatch where the only efficient options. But they were terrible together! So I have the one I raised in my room with my male Guinea hen and they get along perfect! I may not be able to breed them, but at the time, they both needed each other and it works! :D

message 9: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments Oh! I didn't see the notification! :D

Yeah me too. Did you know that Guinea Pigs can get lonely, depressed, and eventually give up? If you know what I mean. It's so sad!
Oh, that sounds awful! But I am glad they got along. :) What were their names? :D

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

That's just fine, it happens to me all the time! :D

I didn't know depressed but of course lonely, I feel so bad for them. Both Guinea pigs and chickens are taken for granted... like they don't have feelings or characteristic when they may have more than people! :) Yes, I know how you feel, it must be terrible for them!

Thank you! :) The one one I raised in my room was Tin-tin but then she laid and egg so now she's Tink! Lol! The Guinea is Henny because he helped the other eggs hatch. The mother whom abandoned Tink is Happy Feet and the hatchling she hatched is Gabby! :D All of my flocks have names!! And I have a rooster names Magnum! I love him. :)

message 11: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments It is! It's also sad how many people don't like Gunea Pigs! They are the best! There should be a Goodreads group just for piggy lovers, but sadly, I checked, and there is not.

Those are the cutest names ever!!!

My Aunt's Guinea Pig had babies this past Thanksgiving and they have some cute names! My Aunt has 8 piggies so far! I'm super jealous! XD

Babies:
Boys- Tiny (The runt) and Oreo Jr.
Girls- Danielle and Twitch.
Parents:
Mama- Oroe
Dad- Gizmo
Other Piggies:
Fatty and Norman!

They thought Oreo was a boy until Gizmo got her pregnant. :O

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Exactly, I could not agree more! My cousin has one and I think Guinea pigs are absolutely adorable! I love the ears! How could you not! Oh, you should think of making one, it can be a very good idea! :D

Thank you so much! I love Kiko and Peanut!! I've had a hen named Peanut Butter once! :D

Ha ha, what a collection! I bet they're so fun! Oh, I love the names!! Gizmo is awesome! XD
Aw, does Fatty have the name for a reason? LOL

Well then, I guess that proves Oreo isn't a boy! Ha ha. The same with the chickens. A first I thought Magnum was a hen so the name was Maggie... but then he started picking up traits that I didn't recall seeing pullets pick up. But now I have a wonderful rooster! :D

message 13: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments Yes! I agree! They are like baby elephant ears! :D I plan on making a group, but I don't think anyone would join!?

Thank you! Aw, that's so cute!

They are! Running around and popcorning!
Fatty used to be really plump! But for some reason he is losing weight, I guess we'll have to call him 'Skinny' :)

Haha! Right! Surprise!

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

They are, that's a perfect way of putting it! :D Although I don't have Guinea pigs, I can be a supporter to the group! XD I have a guinea hen but I guess that doesn't count. Ha ha!!!!

No problem!! Thanks! :D

Ha ha, that sounds too cute, it must be entertaining!!
That could work! It's funny how some animals weight shift and others don't as much. I've noticed it with the chickens too! :)

Hehe! XD

message 15: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments I think I'm going to make that a group! :D

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

That's wonderful!! I'd be very glad to join when you do! :D

message 17: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments Thanks, Kaitlyn!

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

No problem! I bet it will be a very good group! :)

message 19: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments Just made it!

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, thank you so much for making me a Mod of your group! It means a lot, Aly! :D

message 25: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments Oh, its no problem really! You seem like such a great friend! Is there a certain title you are wanting? I have mine as 'Cavy Queen'.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you very much! You do too and I'm glad we have this discussion. :)
That's really cute! Hm... none in particular but I like 'Mini Capybara'. Ha ha, it may sound silly as a choice, but I love Capybaras and they are related to Guinea pigs! :D

message 27: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments You're welcome! I will go do that now! I love Capybaras! They are so cute! <3

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks! Oh, yes, they are precious! I love the faces, if only they were in Maine!! :D

message 29: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments They aren't anywhere near here in Illinois either!! :D

message 30: by Milo (last edited Mar 09, 2018 09:08PM) (new)

Milo | 195 comments First night without the divider!! :O I'm so nervous. I'm just sitting here in the dark listening, they are having a piggy conversation! :D

Milo | 195 comments They did amazing! Kiko is so active for some reason, running around squeaking happily, she and Peanut are eating right now. I just got up to feed them. Now they are doing floor time.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

I am so happy for you that they did alright! Aw, too cute! They sound like they have a fun schedule! :) Peanut looks very happy!

message 34: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments Me too! I'm glad they got along, Peanut could use a friend and Kiko looked so sad in her cage when I got her. So it worked perfectly! Peanut is just happy because I gave her lettuce XD She stands on her hind legs to get it. :D
They do have a pretty fun schedule. Except on weekdays when I am at school. The weekends are super fun!
Fill cage with food- 9 am
Foor time- 3 pm
Fill cage with food- 5 pm
Floor time while I clean cage- 6 pm
Lap/Cuddle time- 8 pm

Of course, those aren't accurate times. I just do them whenever. :D

message 35: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 10, 2018 01:17PM) (new)

That's wonderful! It's such a nice feeling when things work out like that. It takes away tons of worry! :)

That's so cute! She sounds very strong! :D I love when Bacon, my cousin's Guinea pig, will cling on to your shirt and sometimes nibble its buttons! XD

I can imagine how happy they are to be with you on the weekends!
Aw, they're quite pampered and lucky to have you as a Mama!! Hehe! :D

message 36: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments It really does!

I think it's just a habit. its actually a defense reflex, but Peanut just wants the lettuce. XD Peanut nibbles on everything! I had to stop her from eating wires!

I wouldn't say 'pampered' I really want to build them a second level or expand their cage. It's too small! :D

I got a new tunnel for them today. Unfortunately, there is no room for it in their cage so I let them run through it for floor time.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

Indeed!

Too cute! Yes, one thing for sure is that although an action in an animal's movements may be considered a worrisome thing, when a snack is around it can be a total sign of happiness! :D

Ah, I see! I bet they'll like whatever type of cage they have if their Mama approves! :) We're planning on setting up a run in the summer for our chickens but I think adding room for Guinea pigs is a bit easier and a little more fun. Lol!

That's too bad, well, they have something really exciting to look forward to during floor time!

message 38: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments Agreed.

I plan on making an outdoor run for the piggies this summer. I think you're probably right.

Yup!

Well, I am sick so if I don't respond it's because I am probably sleeping.

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

That would be awesome! I have a funny feeling they'd love that. :D

I'm so sorry to hear that, hope you feel much better very soon. I understand, get the rest you need. :)

message 40: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments Hi!!! I'm better! How are you! So many notifications! I can't get through them all! :D

How are you?

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Hello Aly! I'm so glad to hear that you are better! Cold season is terrible!
Ha ha, you're very well liked!! :D

I'm doing pretty good, thank you! You, Kiko and Peanut? :)

message 42: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments Thank you! I wouldn't say 'well-liked' I just have a bunch of groups I am in. :D

Good to here. We are pretty good. Just jammin to some country music. ;)

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

No problem! Well, that's true, but you're still a good friend and I'm sure many of those alerts were because of that! :)

Glad to hear that! Oh, yes, glad to hear that too! Any great tunes? :D

message 44: by Milo (new)

Milo | 195 comments Haha, you're so sweet. :)

Plenty. Currently listening to 'Somethin' 'Bout A Truck' by Kip Moore.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks. :)

Glad! Oh, yes, that's a catchy one! Kip Moore has some good songs. "Running to you," is my favorite. :D
