Bechdel talks a lot about dreams. Each chapter of the book begins with a dream. Do you agree with her interpretations of what her dreams mean? What part in her relationship with her mother do you think the dreams play? Have you ever had a dream that you felt had a deeper meaning or that helped you figure out something about yourself?

I sometimes go to bed upset and wake up calm with a new perspective on whatever was bothering me, which makes me think that I (or my subconscious) must have been working on the problem in some form while I slept. I've wondered before if the problem-solving happens through dreams that I don't remember.
