Will is a 15 year old with a dream. He wants to get accepted into Battleschool and be just like his father before him. A heroic knight that died honorable in battle. When the day comes to choose a profession, Will is rejected from Battleschool and instead apprenticed to the Ranger Halt. The Rangers are strange people that do amazing things, he never knew were possible. Will trains harder than ever when he learns that the evil Morgarath is preparing to strike. Will this young apprentice stop Morgaraths's army before it is too late?

The Rangers Apprentice series is definitely a good read. It has action, adventure, suspense, and friendship. You are able to sympathize with the character Will as he is close to our age and dealing with the same things we are. The entire series captivates you and keeps you on your toes. If you are looking for a good book, this is the book for you.

Will is rejected from Battleschool because he is too small. He doesn't have the right build to be a knight. The time period is Medieval.
