When Ballard orchestrated the arrest of Christopher Nettles at the motel, the senior patrol officer criticized her tactics for failure to wear a raid jacket and a vest and also for the timing of their arrival as backup. Was he right or did he make a bigger deal than warranted?

He was right. The take down could have went horribly wrong and she probably would have ended up dead. She should have waited until they were in place and she should have wore the vest.

I wasn’t so worked up about the vest and jacket but she definitely should have waited until backup got there. She wasn’t planning on him being armed and when she saw that gun, it changed everything. There was no reason for her to start things early.
