It's time (well maybe a bit late) to make suggestions for our April group reads! All suggestions made in this topic will be listed in a poll in a few days so that we can vote on the two books for the monthly group read.

If a book has featured in a previous group read in the last 12 months, please do not suggest it for this next group read. You may, however, feel free to repeat any earlier unsuccessful suggestions you (or anybody else) made in previous nomination topics.

Thorkell Ottarsson | 209 comments I would like to nominate We Are Legion (We Are Bob) by Dennis E. Taylor. Bought the books (all three) some time ago and would like to read them. They are supposed to be a lot of fun.

Kateblue I just read the first couple of pages in a preview at Amazon and I will second that.

Plus, check out the ratings on a FIRST book! Must be good.

Karen Niedzwiecki | 16 comments I agree with We Are Legion (We Are Bob) - sounds good to me (o:

message 5: by Vicky (new)

Vicky Hunt (vickyahunt) | 26 comments I'd like to read:
The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress
By: Robert A. Heinlein

I read We are Legion quite a bit back and didn't enjoy it myself.

Would not mind that either! :)

Thorkell Ottarsson | 209 comments Since there are so few suggestions, I wonder if I could make a 2nd one. You have maybe all read Annihilation but I have not. I saw the film and thought it was a masterpiece and would love to read the books. So if I can make two suggestions then this would be my 2nd one.

message 8: by Karen (new)

Karen Niedzwiecki | 16 comments I'm keen - thought the movie was amazing/mind-bending. I remember thinking the book must be pretty interesting (o:

I would like to suggest Consider Phlebas

Kateblue I just reread the Moon is a Harsh Mistress for about the 10th time, but I think this group should read it because everybody should read it. Though maybe we mostly all have.

I have been waiting for Annihilation from the library since January 29. They have 12 copies and I am still waiting. Yes, I would like to read it, but I don't want to pay for it. Maybe we should wait till later?

Kateblue I nominate Lock In by John Scalzi

If we pick it, I understand we should read this short piece first:

Eman | 3 comments Lock In looks great. Scalzi is an awesome writer!

message 13: by Mel (new)

Mel | 83 comments I nominate: Downbelow Station because we don't read enough female authors :)

I second Consider Phlebas.

Kateblue I now have Annihilation from the library, so, though I would rather read Bobiverse and Scalzi (which I nominated), I will vote for Annihilation because I will never get it back. I will be reading it anyway, whether all of you do, or not.

So I second Annihilation

I've set up the poll for this month's group reads here: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1.... It will go live in a little under three hours.
