actually as the author of That review [which I know you both know lol] Julianna if you loved it you totally don't have to qualify that!! it didn't work for me, but I think it's on the whole empowering for abuse survivors and it's fine by me to recommend here <3

message 11: by Sabrien (new)

Sabrien Abdelrahman Btw these are mental health specific. If anyone wants to see more books, I have a mental-health shelf, POC rep, muslim rep, LGBTQIA+ and more shelves for diversity in general but they're too many and I'm indecisive af so I was being nice by narrowing it down.

message 12: by Enne (new)

Enne (worldsofwords) Hello, I'm Nadia, I use she/her pronouns and some of my favorite books with mentally ill characters are:
-History is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera
-More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera
-Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

-Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
-Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli
-A List of Cages by Robin Roe

I really want to read more books about characters with a mental illness that's underrepresented because I'm really not good at finding those on my own. I'll keep trying, though. I'm looking forward to the books we're going to read!

Ace Hello, I'm Zara and I use she/her pronoun. I probably haven't read as much books on this topic as I would like to, which is why I'm joining this group.

Some of my favourite books are:

Turtles all the way down - John Green

Simon vs. the Homosapien Agenda.

A lot of books that I've been meaning to read but have never gotten to are listed in this group chat so that's probably given me a reason to get a move on with them!

(Also, really late to the party, sorry!)
