Here's something I posted ages ago as a rebuttal to Mormons saying we have much in agreement with each other, blah, blah. And as far as essential doctrine goes, this is pretty much true:As far as common ground between Mormons and Christians on which to base the beginning of a genuine dialog, as a place to begin, so far this is all I am able to come up with,
There is diety (how many is not agreed upon) and someone called Jesus did something that gave us (at least some) eternal benefit.
As far as I have so far been able to determine this is the only fundamental agreement between Mormonism and Christianity.
After months chatting with eager young Mormon missionaries- where all they attempted to do was convince me they were orthodox Christians... I asked them "why do I need to become a Mormon then?"
Never saw them again. Which is sad. They were fun.

They asked me if they could tell me about Jesus and I simply said I already knew Jesus. I kinda thought that'd be a place to start, but nope they politely took their leave and skedaddled.
Must have been lunchtime, or something. *shrug*
