This book of short stories by the much-loved actor Tom Hanks is a nice mix of interesting people doing some very interesting or very ordinary things. Typewriters appear in all of the tales and time travel seems to be a recurring theme. Some of the stories I enjoyed quite a bit: the bowler who is perfect game after game until that perfection becomes more trouble than it's worth; the wealthy CEO who time travels back to 1939 where he meets and becomes infatuated with a pretty young woman; a multi-billionaire and his jaded female assistant who learn about life and love in a small rural town. Most of the stories do not go anywhere and seem rather unfinished to me. I found myself quite disappointed as one story abruptly ended and the next one began. I guess I am a reader who needs a neat finish, whether good or bad; closure of some kind. The audio, read by Hanks, was quite well done.
