Loaded, I know, but hear me out. We always try to offer assistance to people struggling with writer's block by telling them what we think they should try to get passed it. That usually comes down to listening to a certain type of music, taking a break, getting into nature, etc.
I recently had a conversation with someone about this problem and what I realized was that instead of looking at solutions to the problem we should be looking at what the problem is and why it's there, no? I realized recently that by understanding WHY we're writing in the first place, we can see a lot more of the problem and more easily overcome it.
So if you are struggling with writer's block, try remembering why it's so crucial for you to be a writer. What is it about writing that makes it such an important part of who you are and where you want to be in life. Once you have that in mind, writer's block isn't this huge, insurmountable obstacle anymore. It's just a little annoyance that can be overcome with a bit of determination.
