¤ Between The Pages ¤ discussion

So I finally made it past chapter 15.. I got some really heavy Hunger Games vibes in the beginning, especially with the hunting scene in the very first chapter.
The atmosphere feels really dark, which I love in books and the concept of the blood-iron is weirdly fascinating to me. I mean this is just so... I don't know which other word to use, but it's dark. The fact that you have to bleed and that people basically drink blood from others to have more time...
I also like the fact that the MC is not new to the life and scenery at Everless. Since, she grew up there she already knows the two brothers and has a connection with them. So she is not some randomly chosen maid that all of a sudden is so special to get the attention from the lords. (Which is mostly the case in such kind of settings.)

I wish it was a bit more going on though. I'm on page 234 right now and I feel that not much happened yet. I'm definitely intrigued though!

Oh and... December 2019 for book 2?? Really?

Yes, there wasn't that much going on... but still I really wanted to know what's going to happen next.. it's weird. But I wasn't really bored either. For me, the atmosphere really hooked me.
