Starting a new thread for chatter about the Launch Part for Laurie's newest book. Chime in if you're coming!

The Friends of Russell will be holding a pre-launch launch party for ISLAND OF THE MAD, three days before the official pub date, at the Poisoned Pen Bookshop in Scottsdale on June 9. (Yes, books will be sold.) Bookshop events that afternoon will include costumes and Prosecco, biscotti and a slide show. The evening will offer a limited number tickets to a cocktail event nearby. And Sunday morning we're aiming for a readers' brunch. The Valley Ho hotel, near the bookstore, offers rooms for just $99 a night ($119 pool view). Phone 866-987-2052 and ask for the Poisoned Pen rate.

Just to let everyone know, there are three or four spots left in the special cocktail party following the Scottsdale Poisoned Pen Books event. $50 gets you BOTH a copy of Island of the Mad AND a place at the party. Sign up via email to: sales@poisonedpen.com, who can either charge a CC, or you can pay at the door.

What a great launch party! Sure wish I could be there.

We have two or three spaces left in the post-event cocktail party at a marvelous restaurant nearby, if you buy a ticket along with the book there’s a small discount ($50 for both). It’s going to be a lovely intimate event, and I wanted to tell you on the VBC before it goes into the general newsletter tomorrow. Call Poisoned Pen Bookshop or contact their Sales and put your name down for one of the slots. Hope to see some of you there!

I did have a few minutes when Laurie announced the Launch Party of planning to go but then realized that I have a family event that weekend 😞.
I am very excited to read the new book.
