I must admit that the first time I heard for August Wilson's Fences was when it was announced that Denzel Washington was going to produce and direct the movie based on the play. The curious thing about the screenplay is that August Wilson himself managed to wrote it before he passed away in 2005, and he insisted on it having an African-American director. That made sense for the story written by one, about African-Americans, family and race relations in the 1950s. It was fate then, that Denzel Washington came to be so captivated by the play in which he performed on Broadway numerous times since 2010. His, and the performance of Viola Davis, earned them both a Tony award. You can only check the trailer, and you'll see for yourselves why! Plays are usually difficult to come by, so don't worry if you are not able to find it. You can just watch the movie. As usual, your impressions and thoughts about it are more than welcome.
