Alyssa lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling. She was lucky to have Salt, even if he was the grumpiest cat in the universe . . . She stroked his head and thought about the universe itself.
She sat up quickly, startling Salt. He mewled grumpily at her. “Oh, I’m sorry!” She said, reaching out a hand to him. He batted at it with a paw and stalked away. “Hi J,” she said, looking up and smiling.
“Thoughtful,” She said grimly. “Translation: boring.” She flicked at Salt with a finger. “He wasn’t much help.”
“You are not boring,” she told him. Salt came back, done with his pouting, and climbed up into Jonah’s lap. “Ah, come on buddy. Don’t you like me more than J?” She coaxed, trying to get him to come back to her.
He laughed, "Yeah," he said, "Someone was late for the class, language arts, the teacher got mad at them."
“Ha,” She said, smiling. She stood up and stretched her arms above her head. “I had math today,” she said, rolling her eyes. “And Mr. Sunshine here got grumpy and scratched me.”
“I know,” she said. Ally bent down to pat him. “I need to feed him,” she told Jonah. “Even though he’s already fat enough.” She bent under the bed and pulled from the mattress a bag of cat food.
((sorry, I only get to be on here once a day!))"Ok," said Jonah with a smile. "Anything you need help with?"
((Oh I’m sry I didn’t know that))“Math. Always math.” She grumbled, pouring some dry food into Salt’s bowl.
She walked over to the chair beside her bed where she put her backpack. “It’s not even that hard,” She informed him, grabbing her binder and bringing it over.
“Surface area. I know I learned this in like sixth grade but I just don’t understand the equations, you know? Like one-half base times height equals the area of a triangle?”
“So why would it be one-half base times height instead of just base times height?” She frowned at her math page.
“It’s fine.” She sat back down beside him, leaning into his touch. “Do you know the square root of 15?”
