The East kingdom, once ruled by King Corvin Valar and Queen Juliana, with their two sons. The land was known for their trading and selling of metal. With the best army in the land, their blacksmiths forged weapons day and night to create the finest steel. The oldest prince had been engaged to the daughter of the South in order to further establish the alliance between the two kingdoms. But with the death of King Corvin, the engagement had been called off. The two sons had been of elligable age to take the throne after their father died, but despite this, the kingdom continued to fall into a disarray.

The attack on the East had been too well planned, both in time and location. A traitor was in their midst that had informed the north of the kingdom's weakest entry point and of the armies military strategy and numbers. Even so, the attack had occurred around the time that the Queen had fallen ill, both sons by her bedside, unaware and unprepared for the onslaught of arrows and swords. Both princes took to the battle field, each one leading an army of their own on different sides of the battle field, they had been surrounded. Neither one know what has happened to the other, the battle was lost and the north king destroyed not only the castle but the surrounding villages. It was a show of power, one that lay the east to ruin, and everyone captured was slain.

Those who did survive, those that were able to escape from the clutches of the warriors, either fled to the south, hoping that the kingdom would show mercy on them. And the others fled to the west, in unknown territory where they hoped the northern army would not follow.
