I really enjoyed Cameron's narrative and I think it's totally awesome that her sexaulity was explored. I like seeing that in books, where the sexuality isn't quite so clear cut. Living in a small town sucks though and I totally related to Cameron on that level. It sucked when everybody knew about your business.

Small-towns represent! It's so strange how fast word gets around in these places?? Like I know so much about someone's son's new-girlfriend who I've never met. Prayer circles were where all the gossip was, tbh.
I love the exploration of Cam's sexuality! Everything from her renting specific movies to rationalizing behavior to feeling guilty felt very realistic to me. It's awful when kids are raised in environments where they aren't free to discover themselves and it's all internalized.

Her love for movies was so cool. I feel like we don't see a lot of girls into movies in books, ya know? Especially a lot of the older stuff.

Rumors are just ridiculous. People take one brain of truth or someone saying SOMETHING and it can just snowball.
I feel like books tend to focus on characters who also love books, which is definitely relatable, but it's a nice change of pace to see a MC so into another form of media. Especially interested how she uses that media to try to answer questions and discover things on her own

The end of chapter 12 ohhh myyy godddd!!I wasn't much of a Coley fan to begin with (sorry not sorry) but I am so shook that she sold Cameron out like that. I understand that she must have been terrified but like damn she did Cameron dirty...
The God's Promise leaflet at the end was a nice touch, although reading it made me feel a bit sick (anyone else?) I felt like it made Cameron's situation feel so much more real, I cannot even imagine being in her situation. It also made me super excited/terrified for part 3 ahhh.
