If you like either one, please cast your vote. I would like to think the contest finalists will be based on MERIT and not a popularity contest. So vote only if you think one deserves MERIT.

Thank you so much for supporting your fellow authors in their writing endeavors. I know, it's a pain to hit a web site and read a an excerpt, but this is a wonderful contest with a chance for the winner to be read by a NY publishing house.
GRACIAS, Keta Diablo

Just posted my review of this book. This is the fifth Armand Gamache novel. This protagonist is very similar to Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot. See my review for the comparison.http://mikedraperinguilford.blogspot.com
Thanks.

There is a very special interview on the blog Books Gardens and Dogs http://maryinhb.blogspot.com/No, it isn't an author or book blogger interview but a cute idea this blogger had of interviewing dogs. She is featuring my pooch, Dusty, the resident dog from my blog Bookvisions. Please stop by her blog and check out what Dusty had to say and see his pictures.
Here's a story that the author tells her readers her young daughter gave her the idea for. The daughter had a fixation for spiders when she was a little girl and Gardner incorporated that into the book.http://mikedraperinguilford.blogspot.com
Check it out.
Just posted my review of this book. As an adoptive parent, it was unsettling. Ellen Gleeson has a young adopted son, Will. She comes home from work and sees a flier "Have you seen this child?" The face on the photo looks so much like Will that she must investigate.http://mikedraperinguilford.blogspot.com
Thanks
Do you love chocolate? I recently went on a chocolate tour of Denver. Find out how it tasted in my blog post: "Going Down to Chocolate Town."http://girlstrektoo.com/blog
by Chuck Hogan. For some reason, this story, which has the feel of the Waco FBI standoff but with a setting in Montana, didn't excite me.

My family had the holiday blues, then a few of us girls went to a small cottage to recapture family togetherness with an old-fashioned ritual. You can check out our story, "High Tea, Strong Women" @ http://girlstrektoo.com/blog
by Kathy Reichs. Now I know the number of bones in the human body.
The author has given her readers an enjoyable read about Dr. Brennan attempting to help the police when they find someone is killing elderly women. However, Brennan is caught in something else. Someone is sabotaging her work.
A well written, enjoyable novel.

Take a break from holiday stress, and ride with me past Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, on the way to Tiger Leaping Gorge. This is a trek to "The Far Reaches of Normal."http://girlstrektoo.com/blog/?p=81
My recent blog is on the book "The Reapers" by John Connolly. This book is a departure in that Charlie Parker isn't the central character. Instead, his humorous, homosexual friend Louis is sought by a killer. When a person is a killer of killers, he is known as a reaper.
