Nevermoor question

I am a bit confused of the placements of the children in the Show Trial. Top 4 were initially Anah, Hawthorne, Mahir, and Noelle. It then mentions that Francis placed just ahead of Noelle, Hawthorne placed fourth just below Archan, and Thaddea was in fifth. Second place is unaccounted for at this point, so the placements look like Anah, ?, Archan, Hawthorne, Thaddea, Mahir, Francis, Noelle. It says Noelle is 7th, but this calculates to Noelle in 8th, unless Thaddea was really placed second. If second is still unnaccounted for, Cadence would have bumped Noelle to 9th and Morrigan would have bumped Noelle to 10th. Can someone explain to me what's going on? Because I'm really confused and overthinking this.
