Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore discussion

I get that the main character is actually supposed to be likeable and sympathetic, but the jealously he exhibited toward Kat Potente kind of freaked me out. Every time she talked to a guy he put his guard up, although I admit he never seemed to act on this feeling. Did anybody else have this reaction?

This was the first thing that made it crystal clear that Robin Sloan was a man.

Oh, the main character was 100% supposed to be likable and quirky, but really he was annoying, oddly possessive of not only Kat but of his ideas and role in the controversy, and just not likable at all.
It definitely made the book even harder to get through to me.
