Always enjoy seeing what you're reading, Sandi.I'm looking forward to Sunburn but wanted to wait a few books after All the Beautiful Lies which also has a complex female main character.
Am intrigued by your description of The Last Supper; will have to look up the plot to see if it continues to call to me. (Oops... I see it's #5 in a series. Those who know me well know what that means......)
Never felt compelled to read the Billy Bob Holland series although I know some like it.
A good month. I keep meaning to try Laura Lippman again. Can't remember why I haven't read more of her stuff.

So the good news is that it is the 4th book in the series.
Also, as a fellow RIO who would not steer you wrong, you would really only need to read the 2nd book The Tears of Autumn before The Last Supper as it is the only one that impacts the story (and only in a minor way).

Given I'm so behind on group reads I was kidding myself to think I would read all the prior books. I will take you at your word and reserve The Tears of Autumn.
Sandi: Nice month, and Sunburn was a very good group read book! The Last Supper looks tempting!Sandi wrote: "Another month, another excellent group read.

Here are my April reads:
Top Reads
Charles McCarry
A good old fashioned page turner that was both a suspenseful spy story and family saga that spanned the globe and the decades from the late twenties to the seventies. Listened to the audio version which was expertly read by Stefan Rudnicki.
Laura Lippman
Very well done dark suspense tale that was deftly plotted, well paced, and had a complex main character that kept me engaged until the end.
Good Reads
James Lee Burke
First book in the Billy Bob Holland series and winner of the Best Mystery Edgar in 1998 but, for me, not one of the author's best works. The plot was fine but I never really warmed up to Billy Bob and though the book was overly long I thought the ending was a bit rushed. Listened to the audio version and I really enjoyed the narration by Tom Stechschulte.
Adam Mitzner
Debut legal drama that became fairly suspenseful in the last quarter of the book. I mainly picked this up because the audio narration was by David LeDoux and he did a top notch job.
