The Reactions of Others

I have mixed feelings about this: I would appreciate some parents expecting better behavior of their children but in this case, Jack is the truest form of a newbie. When he acts in a difficult way, such as in the mall, it is because it's all new to him, but his aunt and uncle could not explain Jack's behavior to the store clerks without blowing his cover, which is unique to this situation.
Other people show a complete disregard for the privacy of Ma and Jack. My observation is that when people become celebrities, some feel entitled to a piece of them. I feel they are entitled to privacy like anyone else. Most obvious is the news media in this case, but also the sales clerks who gather around Jack when Grandma took Jack to the store to buy a soccer ball. Leave people alone.
