Please nominate your book for June's read from our Science Fiction/Fantasy list.

Bryan--The Bee’s Knees (theindefatigablebertmcguinn) Okay--I have had Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs on my shelves for a long time, but I've not really had the gumption to pull it down and read it. I saw the film a long time ago, and I'm expecting another experience like what I had reading Crash by J. G. Ballard, which I felt was a very distasteful part of my reading career. But...it depends on who you talk to--some think it's great, and some not, but you never know until you try. So I need a good prodding to give Burroughs a try. I'll either read it and find some merit there, or decide it's not for me and clear shelf space. That makes it a win/win, and so I'm nominating The Naked Lunch

Lia I nominate The Unconsoled by Kazuo Ishiguro.

Christopher (Donut) | 45 comments What an eclectic list!

I'm always looking for p.d. (as in (fre)e-book), so...

A Voyage to Arcturus

David Lindsay: (1920)
A Voyage to Arcturus sold only a few hundred copies at the time of its first publication, but has subsequently been recognised as one of the most striking novels of imaginative fiction, Colin Wilson ranking it the "greatest novel of the 20th century". On the surface it tells of Maskull's travels on the planet Tormance, passing through exotic landscapes, finding love, murder and monsters, but through these themes Lindsay explores the meanings and origins of life and the universe.
Keith Brooke

Another nomination, received by a pm, is The Wasp Factory.

I am going to have a hard time choosing which book to vote for, which is not a bad situation, since I there are so many good ones there.

Debra Diggs Yes, many good choices! I picked up my free copy of Voyage to Arcturus for whenever. It looks good too.
