I am probably reading for the "Read a recommended book" challenge, too! I have The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson #1) by Rick Riordan all ready to go! :-)

Finally getting to participate in this school kept me way too busy so I'll be trying to complete several challenges this round so I can catch up - Read 1200 pages, Read a 2nd book in a series (Blood of Wonderland by Coleen Oakes), an winning book (Scythe by Neal Shusterman), Read a book about a villian / antihero (Heartless by Marissa Meyer), Read a book recommended in the group (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone) and a banned book (Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carol)
I will be doing the recommended one too! Ready Player One is the one I chose but couldn't even open its cover 'cause finals :'( And I know I won't be finishing it 'cause again, finals :'(

Never Let Me Go won ALA Alex Award in 2006
hoping to get both done this week

I am reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for an award winning book. If the book is at my library in time I will also read Heartless by Marissa Meyer for the anti-hero/villain one. Have fun reading everyone!

I think instead of reading The Lighting Thief for the recommended task this week, I'm going to count Persepolis 2: The Story of a Return by Marjane Satrapi for the Read a Banned Book task. A School-System in Chicago challenged and banned - at least temporarily, if I understood what I read - the Persepolis memoirs. I read one article that said it was the complete story being challenged/banned, so this second volume about her return to Iran should count, right? :-)
If nothing else, this book is probably banned in Iran!
I read this book on May 24th. :-)
