The Great American Read discussion

This book was so startling to me. Much like the ending of Bridge to Teribithia. The responsibility that the main character has placed on his shoulders is so overwhelming. But the detail is so palpable.

This is another great one. I read it because one of my kids was reading it in school. It was startling to me too. At first I was like they are reading this in 7th grade? But then I was like yea it makes sense at that age we were reading Lord of the Flies and Animal Farm.
