At the autopsy, when there was a piece of wire in his hand, I wondered how he managed to trigger the bomb. All that external need to set the trigger remotely pointed to it being an accident, and not a professional job.
That wire found in his hand at the autopsy was my first clue, too. I never abandoned that theory.
Yes, the wire in his hand told me that he had either set the bomb off accidentally, or it was a suicide.
When the electrician (?) said that the bomb was to be activated from outside and it didn't add up with Van Dyke opening the liquor cabinet, the first thought I had was "wait, don't tell me he accidentally blew himself up?!"Unfortunately when Snowberger died I began seriously doubting my theory. Why do I always fall for the double culprit trick??
