Jane spends the holiday with her family, specifically her mother. Did she (Jane) show us another side of herself? Her mother? How do you believe Jane’s thinking shifted following her conversation with her mother?

This scene really surprised me but in a good way. They both showed a different side to themselves. Jane listened to her mum and her mum explained why she had favoured Jane's brother. Also it was nice to hear that her mum was proud of Jane. I think Jane's thinking did shift and it will be nice to see the relationship grow in the next books. I think the baby will bring them closer together.

Exactly! This was such a powerful moment between these two and I don’t think Angela even recognized what her statements meant to Jane. I’m sure Jane’s relationship with her family is forever changed.
