Will Kilada | 6 comments Spoiled Brats by Simon Rich is not for everyone. It is mostly filled with humour which is not what most are looking for when reading a book. The book consists of short stories, some stranger than the rest. When I finished Spoiled Brats, it had redeveloped my joy of reading. While I was reading, I found myself laughing aloud and think I was watching a TV show, not reading a book. I believe the book’s humor showed me that books can be funny and most times even better than watching a movie of the novel. One part of the book that I did not enjoy were the endings of the stories. The story “Sell Out” was my least favorite ending. The story begins by A man falling into a large bucket of potato brine and being preserved in it for 100 years. He comes out and moves in with his spoiled rich grandson. He fights often with his grandson as he tries to adapt to the new technological world. This story is filled with satire, but the ending, just like most of the endings to these stories, leave the reader on a cliff, not fully finishing the story. Some might enjoy the cliffhanger, as maybe Simon Rich did this so the reader could formulate their own ending and meaning to the story. If you are having trouble getting into reading, or find reading boring, I would give Spoiled Brats a chance to change your mind.
