Bunnicula discussion

I absolutely fell in love with this funny book. Once I started to read it, I could not place the book down. I read the book in one whole sitting. This fiction book reminded me of when I was younger and I let my imagination let loose. (I still do, but it may not be as intense as it was when I was younger) I am a pet owner of a dog and cat who happen to get along great. As for bunnies, I do not own one but the area where I live in, many bunnies reside on the other side of my backyard. Every now and then I will see some of them come over to pay me a visit. I guess I can say I related to the book through the pet characters in the book. I think I lived the book as well because there were parts in which I was laughing hard. Chester is such a dynamic, hoot character. I enjoyed the book very much! In reference on how to use the book in the classroom, well I would say most students (like I did) can relate to the story because most students have pets. It is definitely an attention getter. Plus it is also a great book to show about perspective. Everyone in the Monroe’s household has a saying at one point or another and the only character who does now speak or express himself is Bunnicula. I would have my students create an additional chapter to the book where Bunnicula expresses this his thoughts feelings and emotions towards all the commotion that was happening around him.
