I've only ever seen one. I'm told they're all the rage and lots of authors use them, but I've never seen the point. I keep waiting for someone to talk me into it. :)

Maybe as a pinned video for first time visitors to the book's blog or site? Make it optional - I hate things that start playing when some algorithm kicks in.
I have one. I put it up on a big projection screen for my book launch, and I have it posted on my webpage. It's a click to watch kind of thing. It plays on YouTube, but I'm pretty sure you already have to know what you're looking for to have it pop up. It hasn't had a ton of views, and I'm sure about a dozen of those are probably me viewing it. I think it's kind of cool, but I don't know how useful it's actually been as a marketing tool. It was relatively inexpensive though, so it was not a big risk to take.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCXfc...

I watched a few to get some ideas how others do it, then made a few for my books. They're on YouTube and a few other places. If you watch the one I've posted on the link below, you'll be one of a very few to have seen it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQwdasY9Qk0
Several years ago, we had a book trailer made for a book I co-authored w/my daughter. It involved a shoot on the hottest day of the year, with some actors wearing heavy costumes and wigs - but the finished product got mentions on a lot of sites that were reviewing and rating book trailers at the time. As promotional material, I think the verdict may still be out on how effective they are, but it was an interesting experience.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh2Uv...
Well, here's one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suLy2.... But if what you are looking for are ideas or recommendations to have one made, feel free to contact me and I will give you a couple of options. Best of luck.
You can check out and watch plenty of book trailers in a group here on Goodreads called Book Trailers- Check Them Out: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...Book Trailer Articles:

YouTube is where I post my book trailers and where most authors post theirs. Any other video site I would say doesn't compare to YouTube so the best bet would be to go on YouTube and view them. You could also do a search on Google to see what other sites people have used but they will all most likely redirect you to YouTube.
