Montgomery is timely as I finish up the 3rd book in the Emily of New Moon series. it is full of interesting facts about the author of the beloved ..."</i>I have read the Anne series several times and loved it. I think [book:Rilla of Ingleside was my favorite for its unique perspectives on the First World War, which I know affected the author very deeply. I also enjoyed the follow-up novel to the series, The Blythes Are Quoted which is a lot darker than most of what we're used to seeing from Montgomery. Another of her books I really liked as a teen was Kilmeny of the Orchard. It's been a long time since I read that one - should read it again!
@Christine - I loved Rilla of Inglside too! I will have to add The Blythes are Quoted to my summer reads. I just finished the Emily of New Moon series which was terrific!

I haven't read Montgomery's "Emily" series. Shall have to give that one a look. I really do enjoy her work.
Doreen wrote: "I'm really extremely impressed by this author and look forward to reading more of her books!"Which of her books have you read so far, Doreen?
Christine wrote: "I've read two of those three. Delightful books! Thanks for sharing."Oh they really were Christine. Absolutely loved them.
Today and 144 years ago, Lucy Maud was born... she shares a birthday with my eldest (not that he would be impressed by that).
