Amazingly likable characters, Love, loss, sadness, humor, and hope. This book has it all. Never sentimental and incredibly touching. A beautiful must read

I agree with you Carol. It was a beautiful book and although heartbreaking it had moments of pure joy and lives lived to the fullest in a very short time. I have heard people criticisng Green for writing characters that are not real. That the teenagers in the book weren't like real teenagers. Well I have to diasgree. How could they be normal teenagers? They were all dying of cancer or dealing with illness. Of course they were going to be more mature than normal teenagers. I loved Hazel, Augustus and Isaac. To me they were very real and brought out a lot of emotion.
